"This was a very beautiful and fun wedding to officiate! I've known both parties for over 20 years. We had some humor added into the wedding vows to help calm everyone's nerves. Everything was absolutely beautiful!! I'm honored to have the privilege of marrying two life long friends of the LBGTQ community. "

Dearly beloved and Honored guest
We are gathered here today to witness the joining of two lives. This is
the marriage celebration of two people who are special to you.
(Who gives the bride away?)
Thank you Mr Jimmy!!
Marriage is the promise between two people who love each other, and who trust in that love, who honor each other as individuals, and who choose to spend the rest of their lives together.
This ceremony will not create a relationship that does not already exist between you. It is a symbol of how far you have come these past few years. It is a symbol of the promises you will make to each other to continue growing stronger as individuals and as partners. No matter what challenges you face, you now face them together, and No matter how much you succeed, you now succeed together. The love between you joins you now as one.
(
Honoring our passed loved ones)
Dana and Heather would like to take a moment to honor their loved ones who are no longer with us.
We thought of you today. But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday. And days before that too.
We think of you in silence. We often speak your name.
Now all we have are memories.
And your pictures in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake. With which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping. We have you in our heart.
I know each of you is smiling down on Heather and Dana today. with joy in your hearts knowing that these two have found each other and get to share their lives together.”
(Sand Ceremony)
“Before each of you is a container of sand. That container of sand represents you – all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be. And today you are combining all of you and your uniqueness into the final vessel. And just as these grains of sand can no longer be separated into their individual containers again, so shall your marriage and your lives forever be intertwined.”
(RING EXCHANGE)
Now, you’ve chosen to exchange rings as a physical symbol of these promises.
May we have the rings?
These rings are a symbol of your never-ending love and commitment. When you look at your wedding ring, let it be a reminder that your love is eternal – there is no beginning and no end.
Dana please place this ring on Heather’s finger and repeat after me:
I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and devotion.
I promise to love, honor, and cherish you
Now, and from this moment forward.
HEATHER please place this ring on DANAs finger and repeat after me:
I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and devotion.
I promise to love, honor, and cherish you
Now, and from this moment forward.
(Vows)
I(Dana) take you ( HEATER), to be my wife, my forever friend, confidant, and my love. I vow to honor and respect you always, and I will give you my love freely and unconditionally. I promise to look up to you because I'm short. I pledge this to you with all of my heart, for all the days of our lives.
I (Heather) take you (DANA), to be my wife, my forever friend, confidant, and my love. I vow to honor and respect you always, and I will give you my love freely and unconditionally. I Promise I'll try not to make fun of your tiktoks. I pledge this to you with all of my heart, for all the days of our lives.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
And so now by the power vested in me by AMERICAN MARRIAGE MINISTRIES and the State of LOUISIANA, it is my honor and delight to declare, you WIFE AND WIFEY. You may seal this declaration with a kiss.
