We are gathered here today on this beautiful Autumn day to celebrate the union of Dylan Wicoff and Taylor Mathes.
Like the color of the leaves in the fall, their relationship is changing and we mark that significance with their wedding today.
This ceremony will symbolize Dylan and Taylor’s transition to their next chapter in their lives.
In the years that they have been together, their love for each other has grown, turning them into the couple you see before you.
Now, they are ready to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.
A true marriage begins well before the wedding day, and the efforts of marriage continue well beyond the ceremony.
A brief moment in time
and the stroke of the pen
are all that is required to create the legal bond of marriage, but it takes a lifetime of love, commitment, and
compromise to make marriage durable and everlasting.
Today, you both come freely,
and understand the responsibility
and work involved to make your relationship thrive, and are committed to not only each other but also to Bentley, Carter, and Bailey.
Today is a celebration.
A celebration of love, of commitment,
of friendship, and of family.
You have known each other for a few years now. As a couple you are learning each others quirks and habits.
Your figuring out toilet seat up or down.
Who cooks, who cleans?
Who cleans up after Ceaser and Zeus?
I encourage you to have date nights.
To communicate with your spouse.
Don't break the bond of trust.
Dylan please share your vows with Taylor
Taylor please share your vows with Dylan
Bring rings forward
You've both chosen to wear rings as a reminder of these promises.
Love comes from humble beginnings, and through a combination of serendipity and effort, imperfect beings shape it into something extraordinary. It's the process of making something beautiful where there was once nothing at all. As you look at these rings over the years, I hope you remember that. You've created something invaluable, and just as I know you'll protect these rings, I'm confident you'll protect the commitments you've made to one another today.
Groom to bride:
Dylan, please place this ring on Taylor’s finger and repeat after me
Taylor, I give you this ring
As a symbol of my love
I am choosing to share
my life’s journey with you
I give you this ring
With the pledge to love you
today
Tomorrow
always
