Officiated by Scott Chevalier at Balmoral House in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 5th, 2022.
"Annadele and Conlin had already been together 10 years, and married-in-spirit for a number of years, before deciding to actually tie the knot in front of a small crowd of their people. While Conlin and his parents have been "chosen family" for what seems like forever (20+ years) I was both surprised and elated when he and Annadele asked me to be their officiant. Annadele I didn't know nearly as well, but having watched Conlin grow from a wee small boy into the passionate, caring, outstanding young man he is today I knew that Annadele must be very special. Getting to spend a fair amount of time with her and her family the weekend of the wedding I am certain this is a marriage made to last. The ceremony itself was to be held outside on the beautiful grounds of Balmoral House in Fishers, but due to rain and wind gusts of 45+ MPH the decision was made to move indoors the day prior. While the weather did blow and bluster the day of, it could not diminish the happiness being generated indoors. By the time of the reception the weather had settled down into a cool and calm night for fine food, festive dancing, and moving speeches. "
On behalf of Annadele and Conlin, their families and assembled friends, it’s my pleasure to welcome you all.
Today we are gathered here to celebrate the love Annadele and Conlin have discovered in each other and support the commitment they are about to make.
Marriage is more than standing before their people and repeating vows. There is an entire lifetime ahead of you and there are lessons to be learned and practiced along the way.
Part of marriage is finding happiness. Continue to search for the good, the fun, and the beautiful in this life to share with each other.
Part of marriage is being flexible. So, within your marriage cultivate flexibility, patience, and understanding, all while maintaining a sense of humor and joy.
Part of marriage is companionship. Strive to comfort one another and develop the capacity to forgive and heal your differences day by day.
Remember that your love can always prevail in times of turmoil. It will drive you to not only learn and to grow as individuals, but become stronger partners together.
Today, as you join yourselves in marriage, there is a vast and unknown future stretching out before you. You entered as individuals, but you will leave here as partners; your lives blending together and expanding the ties of your family and best friends.
