Here on this beautiful shore, where the land and ocean meet, we also join together, with them and for them, to rejoice in their new union!

And speaking of adventure... this right here is how we’re switching your relationship “settings” to “adventure mode”, as I’m sure your Pokémon Go accounts are already on. That’s a Pokémon Go joke, ok? And as most of you know, but if you don’t already know- that’s how these two got us all here today.

From Jordan spotting that cutie walking at the university... and wondering if his equally cute human being was also into playing Pokémon go... to eventually making conversation and going to raids together, letting friendship blossom.

At a crazy time when many of us were struggling to stay in contact, their connection was actually growing! Physically distanced, but socially bonding, they were hanging out virtually and watching tv shows together by phone- by the way, Mariano, part of your wedding vows today is to finally finish watching Breaking Bad with Jordan! I bet you didn’t know that you’d be engaged and married before you even got to the season finale! Funny how its harder to commit to a few more seasons of Walter White than it is to commit to a lifetime together. That just goes to show that when you know, you know!

And I know that you will provide great comfort and joy and support to this wonderful and authentic woman, and she you.

Your union today before these witnesses will mark the beginning of a new life together.

Please take each other’s hands in your own, just as you take on this role as partners in marriage.

Now, let the ringbearer come forward please! The bride and groom have chosen rings as a tangible symbol of their bond. Without beginning or end, without judgement or greed, it is an ongoing circle of love and trust, always compromising and supportive.

(OFFICIANT TO COUPLE) Dejen que estas promesas -estos votos- los guíen en los años que vendrán. Let these promises guide you in the years to come.

(OFFICIANT TO MARIANO)

Mariano, repeat after me these vows before placing the ring on her finger:

“Jordan, I am your equal partner and loyal companion.

I promise to honor and respect you,

To care for you and grow with you.

I will strive everyday to show you my love in action.

You may now place the ring on Jordan’s finger as a symbol of your persevering and holistic support.

And so, by the power vested in me by the state of Texas and the American Marriage Ministries, I now pronounce you husband and wife.

You may now kiss the bride! ¡Ahora pueden besarse! ¡Felicidades!

De parte de nuestros novios gracias a todos por venir! Whether you’ve come all the way desde la Cuidad de Mexico, or you drove an hour and a half to get here, or came just down the road in Brownsville, Mariano and Jordan are forever overjoyed and grateful to have your unconditional love and support.

Our bride and groom and I are about to sign the legally binding document, making this all official. You are welcome to witness them and record the momentous signing. Afterwards, the newlyweds will be getting their photos taken, and the rest of us are free to party, let loose, and do whatever our beachy hearts desire.

And now, without anything left to say, it is my distinct honor to present to the world- for the very first time as husband and wife- Jordan and Mariano!!!
