Welcome everyone!
Libby and Eric, before you say your vows to one another, I ask you to remember that love – which is rooted in faith, trust, and acceptance – will be the foundation of an abiding deepening relationship.
No other ties are more tender, no other vows more sacred, than those you now assume. If you are able to keep the vows you take here today, out of a desire to love and be loved by another person fully, without limitation, then your life will have joy and your home will be a happy one.
Libby and Eric, are you ready??
Dearly beloved:
We are gathered here today to join Libby and Eric in the union of marriage.
This contract is not to be entered into lightly, but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities.
[Exchanging of Vows]
Eric, do you take Libby to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, providing comfort, companionship and laughter, for as long as you both shall live?
“I do”
Libby, do you take Eric to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, providing comfort, companionship and laughter, for as long as you both shall live?
“I do”
Rings:
These rings are a symbol of your continued love and commitment. When you look at your ring, let it be a reminder that this bountiful love is a choice you make each day, to nurture and grow together.
Eric:
Place this ring on Libby’s finger and repeat after me:
I give you this ring,
As a symbol of my love,
I promise to devote myself to you,
To honor and cherish you
From now until the end of life.
Libby:
Place this ring on Eric’s finger and repeat after me:
I give you this ring,
As a symbol of my love,
I promise to devote myself to you,
To honor and cherish you
From now until the end of life.
Sand Ceremony:
Libby and Eric, today you join your separate lives together. The two separate bottles of sand symbolize your separate lives. They represent all that you are as an individual. They represent your lives before today. As these two containers are poured, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as the grains of sand can never be separated and poured back into the individual containers, so will your marriage be.
Set containers aside…
Pronouncement:
By the power vested in me by the great state of Florida, I now pronounce you husband and wife.
Eric you may kiss the bride!
I am honored to present to you, Eric and Libby Barcus!
