Amy Palker And Chris Dawson’s Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

(*Welcome*)

Thank you all for being here, on this beautiful day, to witness the joining of Amy and Chris in marriage. You each bring something special to their lives and they appreciate your continued love and support as they start this next chapter as husband and wife. As you all know (pretty sure anyway), I have known Amy for over 25 years. She has been my person since day one. So when she met Chris, I was over-the-moon to see her so happy. She found the love of her life and I gained another favorite person. To be able to watch their love for one another grow, and to witness their journey together, has been a great honor. Just as I am honored today to be part of such a special and memorable day in their lives.

Amy asked that I read Ecclesiastes 4:9, which says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?"

Amy and Chris, you are here today to publicly declare your love and commitment to one another. To promise to uphold the vows you speak to one another. And always remember that you are each other’s home, comfort, and sanctuary.

(*Declaration of Intent*)

Chris, do you take Amy to be your wife, promising to love her, comfort, honor, respect, and care for her for the rest of your life?

Amy, do you take Chris to be your husband, promising to love him, comfort, honor, respect, and care for him for the rest of your life?

(*Ring Exchange*)

Now you may take out the rings you will exchange. These rings are an outward symbol of the inward bond that unites your hearts in love.

Chris, as you place the ring on Amy’s finger, repeat after me:

Amy, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love, my faith in our strength together, and my devotion to learn and grow with you.

Amy, as you place the ring on Chris’s finger, repeat after me:

Chris, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love, my faith in our strength together, and my devotion to learn and grow with you.

(*Pronouncement*)

Amy and Chris, we have heard your vows and promise of faithful love. It is with great pleasure, by the authority vested in me by the state of Ohio, that I can now pronounce you husband and wife! Chris, you may kiss your bride!

(*Closing*)

Please gather in the next room to stay warm, while Chris and Amy take pictures. Then we’ll all head to the winery afterwards.
