Dad & Dawn

The Wedding of Robert Dale Williams & Dawn Michelle De La Cruz

Officiated by Lacey Lourraine Greenwood at Crescent Place, Kentucky in Covington, Kentucky on December 30th, 2021. Witnessed by Christian De La Cruz and Kaylyn Williams.

ABOUT THIS WEDDING

"This wedding was special because it was my father and step-mother. The wedding went very smoothly and the couple was very satisfied with my services. I added some lyrics of their favorite song and performed a sand ceremony. The couple took turns pouring different colored sand from their separate vases to a large vase which created a very cool pattern. The couple will now keep their sand vase as a symbol of their wedding day. We were surrounded by our families and the atmosphere was full of love and excitement. I am so happy to present Mr. and Mrs. Williams!"

Robert Dale Williams And Dawn Michelle De La Cruz’s Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

Dearly Beloved and Honored Guests,

We are gathered together here to join Robert Dale Williams and Dawn Michelle De La Cruz in the spiritual union of marriage.

Today, I am given the honor to bring my father and step-mother together in holy matrimony. I give you my blessing as I officiate your wedding today. Thank you both for trusting me and giving me the power to bring you both together today.

As you both move forward in this next step of your lives, may you reflect on everything you’ve been through. There have been many days that neither of you were sure you’d get through, but you’re both standing here before all of us because you endured through it and committed yourselves to each other. May the bond you two share never be broken. May you continue to lift each other up and be strong when your partner can not be.

I remember the first time I met you, Dawn. It was as if something clicked and just felt right. It was so easy to welcome you into our family. You loved each and everyone of us from the moment you met my dad and I speak on behalf of all of us when I say, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a mom to all of us. We all wish you both the best of luck on this new adventure.

Dad, I couldn’t have handpicked a better woman for you to spend the rest of your life with. You have both brought so much happiness not only to each other, but to each of your children. We are all here for you to say, this is it. This is the one you’ve longed for for so long.

Today, as we begin the first day of the rest of your lives together, please take a moment to reflect on the seriousness of the contract you are entering. This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home. Never stop remembering The reasons you fell in love with each other. Reflect on all you’ve been through together and imagine for just a moment what you want the rest of your lives to be like together. When the going gets rough and you don’t know how either of you will carry on, lean on each other and remember this day you were both filled with such excitement and love for one another.

Before you share your vows, please take a moment to cherish each other as I recite the lyrics to a special song for the both of you.

“Even when you blow the punchline

Nobody makes me laugh like you do

Every minute is a long time

If I ain't holdin' on to you

You're my stay-in on the weekend

You're my come undone

You're my call home, sayin' it's more than love

Momma, she's the one

Yeah, you're my person

My heartbeat

My slow dance

My Sunday-morning-sippin'-on-coffee in bed

My know-when-you-know best friend

The stealin' of my t-shirts

My reason for speedin' home from work

My saving grace, my everything

I've never been more sure that you're my person”

Robert Dale Williams and Dawn Michelle De La Cruz will now share their vows.
