ABOUT THIS WEDDING

"Welcome everyone to the Marriage ceremony of Andrew and Katherine. My name is Michael Rydberg, deacon of the First Congregational Church in Marshfield, and Minister of The American Marriage Ministries. I am honored to join this couple in holy matrimony. I have known Andrew here for quite some time. He was a Sunday School student of mine and a student in my Confirmation class way back in 2009. Andrew’s confirmation verse was Matthew 5:11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.” This tells us a little bit about Andrew. He does not let it bother him when people insult him, persecute him, or falsely say things about him. I think this is one of the characteristics that attracted Katherine to him. Katherine I have only just met, but I like her already. Yesterday I was at the Church Parish Hall fiddling with the new Church printer when Andrew and Katherine showed up for the ring exchange rehearsal. I explained to them that for the life of me I could not figure out how to turn it on. Andrew confidently said I can do that for you and he gave it a try. For minutes he looked in the front, the back, the sides. He pressed random buttons and gave up, stumped. Katherine stepped forward and said “Did you try pressing this button?” She pressed it and the printer turned on. She didn’t roll her eyes or sigh at us incompetent men. No judgement. She just turned on the machine for us. In our defense, the button was a flat unmarked circle in a black background. But I digress… "
