Welcome, We are gathered here today to join this man and this woman in the bonds of matrimony, which is an honorable estate and is to be entered into after much thought and with an abundance of love.

Marriage is the joyful uniting of a couple whose care and affection and understanding have developed into a deep and abiding love. Marriage is the union of two individuals in heart, body, mind, and spirit. Therefore, marriage is not to be entered into lightly, but honestly, and deliberately.

Please recite your vows to each other;

Robert:

I offer you not the "summer of my life" but the autumn, brisk and vibrant.

Leslie:

I promise to be a companion worthy of your precious friendship.

Robert:

I pledge you compassion in good times and bad; encouragement in sickness and health.

Leslie:

It is my intent that our life together include our large circle of dear friends, devoted children and loving families.

And, Leslie and Robert recite together:

We'll cherish the memories of our individual pasts; and create our new life as we go now together.

And now the giving and receiving of the rings;

Robert, will you receive this woman as your wedded wife, to give yourself to her in love and honor, in duty and in service, in faithfulness and in tenderness, to live with her and to cherish her from this day forward?

Leslie, will you receive this man as your wedded husband, to give yourself to him in love and honor, in duty and in service, in faithfulness and in tenderness, to live with him and to cherish him from this day forward?

Robert, would you please place the ring on Leslie’s finger and repeat after me: With this ring, I thee wed, and forever pledge my love and devotion.

Leslie, would you please place the ring on Robert’s finger and repeat after me: With this ring, I thee wed, and forever pledge my love and devotion.

By giving and receiving your vows, and giving and receiving your wedding rings, you have consented to be joined together in wedlock and have pledged yourselves to each other for as long as you both shall live and have witnessed the same before this company.

Therefore, on this day, in accordance with the authority vested in me by the State of New York, I do hereby pronounce you husband and wife.
