Officiated by Chad Dereick Cloud-Miller at Harbor Grove Park in Denton, Texas on August 29th, 2021.
"This was a beautiful, small ceremony on the shores of Lake Lewisville outside of Dallas, TX. Unfortunately, the man who slipped me a few bills for performing the service tested positive for COVID later that evening. My family and I were quarantined for a week but luckily we never got sick. Hooray for vaccinations! I guess this is the risk you take being ordained nowadays. "

Invocation
We are gathered here today to celebrate with Michael and Melissa as they proclaim their love and commitment to the world. We are gathered to rejoice, with and for them, in the new life they now undertake together. What greater thing for two persons than to feel they are joined together, to strengthen each other in labor, to rest on each other in sorrow, to help each other in need, to share joy, and to be one with each other – Whatever life has to offer. This is a special time of celebration that they will long remember, and because of this, they are thankful you are here today to share in their joy.
(to the couple)
Michael and Melissa today begins a life of giving and sharing, nurturing and support, allowing each other the freedom to change and grow as individuals while developing your mutual spirit as time goes by. In the art of marriage, the little things are the big things. It is about establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, dependence is mutual, and the obligation is reciprocal.
Today, your family and friends are gathered together to celebrate your union. We are privileged to witness two very clear friends, two exceptional and driven individuals committed to sharing a lifetime together.
Declaration of Intent
Michael and Melissa the relationship you enter into today must stand by the strength of your love and the power of faith in each other. To make your relationship succeed it will take unending love. It will take trust, to know in your hearts that you truly want what is best for one another and to learn and grow together. It will take faith, to go forward together without knowing exactly what the future brings. If you both come freely, and understand the responsibility and work involved to make your relationship thrive and are committed to not only each other but your family, please take each other by the right hand and reply "we do".... they replied, "we do".
You are about to make your promises to one another. You will find that as you live by these vows over the years, investing your time, love, and your commitment to one another, the happy times of your life will be twice as joyous because you’ll share these joys in marriage.
Vow Exchange
Michael repeat after me... Melissa you are my best friend and everlasting companion. You have brought me the truest happiness I have ever known. I take joy today in committing my life to yours.
Michael, will you take Melissa whose hand you hold, choosing her alone to be your lawfully wedded wife? Will you live with her in the state of true matrimony? Will you love her and comfort her through good times and bad, sickness and in health, honoring her at all times and being faithful to her?
Melissa, repeat after me.... Michael, you are my best friend and everlasting companion. You have brought me the truest happiness I have ever known. I take joy today in committing my life to yours.
Melissa will you take Michael whose hand you hold, choosing him alone to be your lawfully wedded husband? Will you live with him in the state of true matrimony? Will you love him and comfort him through good time and bad, sickness and in health, honoring him at all times and being faithful to him?
Bible Verse
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…” 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
The Beatles
This is all fine and well, but I’ve always preferred the immortal words of the Apostle John, the Apostle Paul, the Apostle George, and the Apostle Ringo when they proclaimed in one voice “All you need is love, all you need is love, all you need is love, love, love is all you need!”
The Rings
The ring, an unbroken circle, represents unending love. As often as either of you look upon these rings, may you be reminded of this moment and the love you have promised to one another.
Michael, please place the ring on Melissa’s finger and repeat after me
I give you this ring as a symbol of my love, and that I am choosing to share my life’s journey with you. I give you this ring, with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever.
Melissa, please place the ring on Michael’s finger and repeat after me
I give you this ring as a symbol of my love, and that I am choosing to share my life’s journey with you. I give you this ring, with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever.
I want to wish you both much love and happiness as you begin your new journey. Remember to keep lots of laughter in your life and love will never be far behind.
Blessing
Prior to this moment, you each walked a separate road. Now you shall embark together on a shared path. The journey is yours alone. It is the strength of your love that shall nourish you together as a couple.
You have stood before these witnesses and declared your intent to commit your lives in marriage. You have made these promises to each other. Your road to this moment has not always been smooth, but you continued to fight for one another. I hope you will never forget the fight and perseverance it has taken to get to this moment. And I hope you will never forget the love and joy you feel today, because these are the values that will keep your marriage, family and bond to one another strong.
I leave you now with the following words. May all that you are always be in love. May all that is love always be in you. May your love be as beautiful on each day you share as it is on this day of celebration and may each day you share be as precious to you as the day you first fell in love. May you always see and encourage the best in each other. May the challenges life brings your way make your marriage even stronger, and may you always be each other’s best friend and greatest love.
