Invocation
Dearly beloved Friends and Family), we are gathered together to witness and celebrate Chris and Crystal’s spiritual union of marriage. This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundation of a happy and enduring home.
Declaration of Intent:
We now come to the words Crystal and Chris want to hear the most today… The words that take them across the threshold from being engaged to being man and wife. Before you declare your vows to one another, I want to hear you confirm that it is indeed your intention to be married today.
Chris do you come here freely and without reservation to give yourself to Crystal in marriage? If so answer I do
Chris: I do
Crystal do you come here freely and without reservation to give yourself to Chris in marriage? If so answer I do
Crystal: I do
Vows:
Crystal and Chris, having heard that it is your intention to be married to each other please let me remind you what love is; Corinthians 13:7 says “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things, Love never fails.” I now ask you to declare your love and exchange your marriage vows:
Crystal and Chris will now exchange their vows written for each other.
Chris Repeat after me:
I, Chris, take you, Crystal , to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you all the days of my life. Add in personal vows at this point.
Crystal Repeat after me:
I, Crystal, take you, Chris, to be my husband. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you all the days of my life. Add in personal vows at this point.
Rings:
Obtain rings from Best Man and Maid of Honor
Your wedding rings are outward and visible signs of the inward and invisible bond which already unites your two hearts in love as one. The ring has always been an emblem of love throughout time, a symbol of devotion and of an agreement between two people to love and cherish one another for the rest of their days. The love is like the band it has no start and no stop, but is continuous and forever.
Chris place the ring on Crystals finger and repeat after me
I will give you ring
I give you this ring to wear it with love and joy. As this ring has no end, my love is also forever.
Crystal place this ring on Chris’s finger and repeat after me
I will give you ring
I give you this ring to wear it with love and joy. As this ring has no end, my love is also forever.
ME: May the wedding rings you exchanged today remind you every day that you are surrounded by enduring love. You are no longer individuals but two who are now one joined together forever in the unity of marriage. We are reminded of this in Matthew 19:6 “So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore, what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
Tree Ceremony (5 mins)
Crystal and Chris, your home is a special place, a place where you will bring beautiful flowers and plants and fill with love. May this tree forever provide beauty that reminds you of your beautiful relationship and marriage. As you plant this tree you are declaring, pledging, and promising to establish and nurture it. We are aware of the special beauty between the two of you and with you now to celebrate your relationship as it is and as it is yet to be. We ask that you remember how your life together will have the same seasons and needs as your gardens. There will be growth like spring and loss like fall; there will be giving as the blossoming flower, and rest as the seed beneath the snow. Care deeply for your new tree and for the life that is now yours together. Nurture it. Appreciate your differences and cultivate them. As you caringly chose to plant this tree as a declaration of your marriage so remember its lesson for your life together through the seasons that are yours to share May those seasons bring you and yours joy and happiness.
You two will now take the dirt and pour over the tree roots, take watering can together and water the tree after that then complete.
