Megan Dawn Davis And Matthew David Austin’s Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

Welcome!

Family and friends, we are gathered here today to celebrate and witness the joining of MEGAN DAWN DAVIS and MATTHEW DAVID AUSTIN in marriage. As they promise to love, trust in that love, honor one another as individuals, and anticipate with joy spending the rest of their lives together. They are surrounded by you – family and friends. Thank you for gathering here to witness their marriage and to share in the joy of this special occasion.

As you know, they met in college and began their relationship in January of 2015. Matt proposed to Megan on May 11, 2019. They both appreciate the kindness and honesty each have. And, they have a lot in common.

This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with the deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home.

*(Vows)*

Do you MEGAN DAWN DAVIS take this man MATTHEW DAVID AUSTIN to be your lawfully wedded partner, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?

Do you MATTHEW DAVID AUSTIN take this woman MEGAN DAWN DAVIS to be your lawfully wedded partner, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?

On your wedding day you have chosen to exchange rings as a symbol of the never-ending circle they represent and the love which cannot be broken. Your rings serve as a reminder of your wedding vows to each other and your commitment to live in unity, love and happiness.

MEGAN and MATT will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.

Matt, please place this ring on Megan’s left hand and repeat after me:

Megan Dawn Davis, I give you this ring to wear with love and joy. As a ring has no end, neither shall my love for you. I choose you to be my wife this day, tomorrow, forever and always.

Megan, please place this ring on Matt’s left hand and repeat after me:

Matthew David Austin, I give you this ring to wear with love and joy. As a ring has no end, neither shall my love for you. I choose you to be my husband this day, tomorrow, forever and always.

MARRIAGE PRAYER

Lord help Megan and Matt to remember when they first met and the strong love that grew between them.

Help them love in practical ways so that nothing can divide them.

May their words be kind and their thoughts gracious.

May they remain humble enough to ask for forgiveness and wise enough to freely give.

Megan and Matt have chosen to braid CORDS OF THREE STRANDS

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves, A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

Ecclesiastes 4:12

God’s word presents a metaphor of the divine strength of a marriage made under God’s authority and blessing. A rope woven from only two strands, although stronger than one, is easily unraveled by life’s challenges, whereas three strands turn out to be a sweet spot for maximum strength, both for rope strands and a marriage made under God’s ‘covenant’.

Megan and Matt, I leave you with the following:

May all that you are, you always be in love. May all that is love, always be in you.

May your love be as beautiful on each day as you share it as it is on this day.

May each day you share be as precious to you as the day you first fell in love.

May you always see and encourage the best in each other.

May any challenges you face, make your marriage stronger.

May you always be each other’s best friend, confidant and greatest love.

By the authority vested in me by American Marriage Ministries and the State of Pennsylvania I now pronounce you wife and husband!
