Good Evening Family, Friends and Honored Guest,
I’d like to begin by welcoming everyone and thanking each and every one of you for being here on this special day. It’s no accident that each of you are here today, and each of you were invited to be here because you represent someone important in the individual and collectives lives of Edoardo Diera and Yvette Dominquez.
At this time, the bride and groom will begin the 13 wedding coin exchange.
I would like to first share with you the significance of this exchange. The number 13 is significant as it represents Jesus and his 12 apostles. The coins themselves symbolizes the grooms financial treasures, and by gifting them to his bride, he is showing that he trusts her with his wealth, and his money is her money. Edoardo will you please begin the exchange with your bride?
(Pause for a few moments for bride and groom to adjust).
We are gathered together here to join Edoardo Diera and Yvette Dominguez in the spiritual union of marriage. This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and sincerely, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home.
Do you Edoardo take this woman Yvette Dominguez to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
Do you Yvette take this man Edoardo Diera to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*
(young man with 3 strand cord will come forward)
Edoardo and Yvette have chosen to participate in the unity braid which requires the bride to braid three strands together into a single cord. Each strand has a significant meaning.
The gold strand represents God and His majesty.
The sienna strand represents the groom and his life.
The white strand represents the bride and her life.
In braiding these three strands together, Edoardo and Yvette have demonstrated that their marriage is more than a joining of two lives together. It is a unity with God as well. They have chosen to allow God to be at the center of their marriage, woven into every aspect of it.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 reads, "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
Edoardo and Yvette will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.
*(Ring Exchange)*
By the authority vested in me by American Marriage Ministries and the State of California I now pronounce you husband and wife!
You may kiss the bride!
I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Diera
Quick announcement: Those family members that have been asked to participate in photos, please stay seated. Guest and friends please head back to the reception area for cocktails!
