Melanie + Joe

The Wedding of Melanie Socash & Joe Dolinsky

Officiated by Erin Lynn Kosisky at Chippy White Table in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania on February 20th, 2021.

ABOUT THIS WEDDING

"Joe and Melanie's wedding day was beautifully perfect. The two originally planned for a big wedding with all of their family friends for August 2020. They then postponed it to November due to Covid. It was then postponed again until April or 2021. Joe and Melanie decided they no longer wanted to wait. So on February 20th they decided to tie the knot in front of Melanie's mom and dad, her brother, and Joe's mom. Even with all safety protocols in place, Joe and Melanie were still able to have the best day ever. The venue, Chippy White Table, was decorated so beautifully, I almost wanted to move in. The Chippy team was so incredible to work with. The caterers, State Street Grill, were amazing. The photographer, Matt Giambra was a joy to work with. It is always such a pleasure getting to officiate for friends. I've known Joe and Melanie for quite some time now, so it was hard to gold back tears myself when Melanie began to walk down the aisle. There is something so magical in getting to create a personalized ceremony for people you love and getting to hear their vows up close and center. I will forever be grateful for having been a part of this perfect day. "

Melanie Socash And Joe Dolinsky’s Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

Melanie + Joe

February 20th, 2021

03:00PM

Chippy White Table – Tunkhannock, PA

The Ceremony:

-All guests are seated.

-Joe and Erin stand at front of room.

- Erin: “On behalf of the nearly newlyweds, I kindly ask that all cellphones, tablets, pagers (ha), and any other devices be silenced and put away so that we could enjoy this moment fully in the present.”

-Music begins.

The Processional:

-Melanie is escorted by Mom & Dad.

-Mom and Dad greet Joe, and then place Melanie’s hand in Joe’s.

-Music fades and ceases.

The Invocation:

Erin: “Welcome everyone, and thank you for gathering here to witness Melanie and Joe’s marriage vows. Each of you are here because you share a special bond with these two amazing people before you on this stage. Today you truly are all family, and this family is a community. At the heart of this community are Melanie and Joe. They care about each of you, just as they care for each other. As such, we are gathered here today to solemnize the marriage of these two beautiful people.

Melanie and Joe, this union is not to be entered lightly, but thoughtfully and seriously, and with deep realization of its responsibilities. Remember that love, loyalty, understanding, and Jake are the foundation of a happy and enduring home. Most importantly – love. After all, it is love that brings us all here together today. It is love that brings us all hope. It is shared love that brings joy. It is Melanie and Joe’s love for each other that will sustain them through their life together. Today, Melanie and Joe, you are promising in front of your family – these people you love – that you both want to be with each other and only each other for the rest of your lives, and that you will do everything in your power to honor the promises that you are making here today.

…and so I ask,”

Declaration of Intent:

Erin to Joe: “Do you, Joe, take Melanie Elizabeth Socash to be your wife, your companion, your best human ever, your friend, and your confidant; and do you promise to respect and support Melanie in bad times and good?”

Joe: “I do.”

Erin to Melanie: “Do you, Melanie, take Joseph Michael Dolinsky Jr. to be your husband, your companion, your best human ever, your friend, and your confidant; and do you promise to respect and support Joe in bad times and good?”

Melanie: “I do.”

Vows Exchange:

Erin: “I now ask Melanie and Joe to exchange the vows in which they have written for each other.”

Joe: Vows

Melanie: Vows

Rings Exchange:

Erin: “Melanie and Joe will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.”

-Scott brings rings to Melanie and Joe.

Erin: “The ring, an unbroken and infinite circle, represents unending love. May these rings, when you look upon them, be a joyous reminder of this moment and the love you have promised to each other.”

Erin to Joe: “Joe, please place this ring on Melanie’s finger as you repeat after me:

‘Melanie, I give you this ring/ as a symbol of my love for you/ and my wanting to share my life’s journey with you./ I give you this ring/ with the promise to love you today, tomorrow, and always.’”

Erin to Melanie: “Melanie, please place this ring on Joe’s finger as you repeat after me:

‘Joe, I give you this ring/ as a symbol of my love for you/ and my wanting to share my life’s journey with you./ I give you this ring/ with the promise to love you today, tomorrow, and always.’”

Erin: “Melanie and Joe, I wish you both so much love and happiness as you begin this new chapter. Remember to keep lots of laughter in your life together, and love will never be far behind. Continue to help each to grow, like when Joe had Melanie watch Die Hard for the FIRST TIME last year. Continue having “relaxing weekend getaways” even if the cabins start to smoke and car batteries die. I have had the great joy in experiencing first hand the light and love the two of you bring into a room when you enter it, just as everyone else here has.”

[Insert synonym for the word ‘Blessing’]:

Erin: “May all that you are always be in love. May all that is love always be in you. May your love be as beautiful on each day you share it as it is on this day of celebration; and may each day you share be as beautiful to you as the day you first fell in love. May you always see and encourage the best in each other. May the challenges that come your way, make your marriage and friendship even stronger, and may you always be each other’s best friend and greatest love.”

The Pronouncement:

Erin: “Melanie and Joe, you have promised your love to each other in the company of your wonderful families. By the power vested in me by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I now pronounce you married! You may now kiss!”

KISS! KISS! KISS! KISS! KISS! KISS!

*depending on set up, I will stand or duck to the side at this moment to allow for Matt to capture some timeless photos here.*

The Recessional:

Erin: “It is with great honor that I present to you for the very first time: Joe and Melanie Dolinsky!

-Melanie and Joe turn to face family.

*Erin leads everyone to cocktail hour so Matt can take newlywed portraits.*

-Music begins again.

AND EVERYONE LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER… (after party time, of course.) 😊
