"ABOUT THIS WEDDING "Kathy Berganza and Carlos Orellana married on December 19, 2020 in an intimate wedding filled with love and happiness. Kathy and Carlos were joined by their daughter, Sophia. I was truly humbled and happy to officiate this wedding. I have been a mentor and Resident Minister of Kathy's since she was a student. We continued to build our relationship discussing life issues, relationships, career goals, grief and happiness. During her senior year, Kathy asked me to be her sponsor for RCIA so I officially was called Nina. We had amazing conversations regarding faith, spiritual development, hope, relationships and her dreams for the future. I was truly blessed to be asked to officiate this very small covid wedding. Kathy also honored me by wearing my wedding gown. We spent a day together having the wedding dress redesigned while planning her dream wedding on the beach. The seamstress, designer said are you sure you want to redesign a vinage Jessica McClintock. We both stated that we were sure. Kathy looked AMAZING in the dress. Due to covid, we had the Bride (Kathy),Groom (Carlos), their daughter (Sophia), me as the Officiant (Lorianne) and my husband (Alan) as a reader/witness/camera man. Alan captured the day in video and pictures. It was an amazingly, gorgeous day on Westward Beach in Malibu. A wedding filled with love, dolphins, happiness, sun, on-lookers, who all shared in the couples/family joy of officiating their union together. It was an honor to share this day with someone who has become a part of my life. She continues to be like a niece or like an adopted daughter. We talk almost every week a few times. We dialogue about family, relationships, career aspirations, dreams, goals, life skills, her daughter and life in general. I am so happy for the Orellana Family!
