Dear friends and family, we are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the union of Timmy and Tara. Since they met, their love for each other has grown, turning them into the couple you see before you. Now, they are ready to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife. A true marriage begins well before the wedding day, and the efforts of marriage continue well beyond the ceremony. A brief moment in time and the stroke of the pen are all that is required to create the legal bond of marriage, but it takes a lifetime of love, commitment, and compromise to make marriage durable and everlasting. Today you declare your commitment to each other before family and friends.

This is a new beginning for both of you and I’d like to offer some reminders which, if followed – will help to strengthen your skills to attain the life-long mission of commitment and joy.

When you forgive - your hearts make room for a little more love, a little more understanding and a little more compassion. Communicate with each other. Share the joy that’s in your heart, as well as the ills that burden your soul. Open your hearts to one another, and love will surely fill them.

Babe, I stand before you, ready to start the biggest adventure of our lives. I know it will be challenging, and some days will require much effort. But, I also know that there will be days filled with love, laughter, and pure bliss. I can’t imagine sharing this adventure with anyone else but you. You’re my best friend, the love of my life, and my soul mate.

I promise to continue surprising you with romantic hotel surprises. I promise to continue showing you my love through making you the meals you enjoy so much. Today I promise to stand by your side and to love you always.
