Welcome family and friends. We are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage of Elizabeth and Christopher. We are all here to support this commitment of love and to share the joy of Elizabeth and Christopher as they choose to spend their lives together.

Invocation

Elizabeth and Christopher, your marriage will be a lifelong promise to love, respect, trust and honor each other. You have already joined your hearts, and have chosen to walk life’s journey together as husband and wife. The foundation of a good marriage is love, trust and loyalty. Always rely on that foundation, and you will see your bond grow stronger.

The ring, an unbroken circle, represents unending love. As often as either of you look upon these rings, may you be reminded of this moment and the love you have promised to one another.

Christopher, please place this ring on Elizabeth’s finger and repeat after me.

Elizabeth, I give you this ring, as a symbol of my love, and that I am choosing to share my life’s journey with you. I give you this ring, with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always and forever.

Sand Ceremony

Elizabeth and Christopher, you have just sealed your relationship by the giving and receiving of rings and this is a pledge between two people who agree that they will commit themselves to one another throughout their lives.

Today, this relationship is also symbolized through the pouring of two individual containers of sand, One representing you Elizabeth and one representing you Christopher, and all that you were, all that you are and all that you will ever be.

As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one.

Just as these grains of sand can never be separated, our prayer for you today is that your lives together would be blended like the seven seas and may your love swirl around each other like the changing tides.
