Look what happens with a love like that!

The Wedding of Emma Rebecca Taylor & Andrew Binaris Ostler

Officiated by Lisa Jane Hubbs at Home of Family Friends in Saint George, Utah on October 25th, 2020. Witnessed by Andrew Christen Ostler and Hanna M Fraser.

ABOUT THIS WEDDING

"Andrew & Emma selected a poem to be shared with the guests at their wedding. 'The Sun Never Says', a poem by the fourteenth century poet Hafiz, describes the kind of relationship they would like to have in their marriage. "Even after all this time, the Sun never says to the Earth, "you owe me" Look what happens with a love like that. it lights the whole sky! Emma has been a friend of my youngest daughter for many years so I was thrilled to officiate their wedding at the home of family friends after Co-Vid forced a change of venue. Writing their Ceremony was such a blessing... I was quite nervous at first as Emma wasn't too excited about a 'religious ceremony'... she suggested I might say 'something about the universe'... and then their ceremony pretty much wrote itself. It was everything it should have been, not about religion but about the immense treasure of love & relationship. If you have a few moments, read the beautiful tribute to the two of them and the roles they will each play in their journey as husband and wife! It ended up being an unusually windy day and I pray God was blowing in an abundance of blessings for this beautiful young couple. One of my very favorite moments was when the bride reached up to move the hair from 'my' eyes... in all her beauty, on her special day, she so tenderly noticed someone else. She's a treasure! And her husband knows it! Congratulations Andrew & Emma! "

Emma Rebecca Taylor And Andrew Binaris Ostler’s Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

Beloved Family and Honored Guests,

Thank you for joining us here today to witness & celebrate as Emma and Andrew become husband and wife.

Emma and Andrew, Welcome to your Wedding Day!

Today is a new beginning that will set the stage for your journey forward as a couple. Last night, for the very last time, the two of you went to bed as single individuals. Tonight & every night forward may seem like last night... all of the things you normally do will pretty much remain the same... but beginning tonight, "Everything is different!"

Tonight Andrew, you will be a husband, and Emma you will be his wife. Yo will make promises today that I expect the two of you to keep. I can promise that you will hear my voice & you will feel my love when other of you begin to stray from these promises.

You have selected a beautiful poem to be shared with your guests today. It makes a powerful statement about the type of relationship the two of you would like to have.

"The Sun Never Says" a poem by the fourteenth century poet Hafiz

Even after all this time, the Sun never says to the Earth, you owe me.

Look what happens with a love like that, it lights the whole sky.

There will be times in your marriage when each of you take turns as the sun & the earth, times when you could easily & rightfully say, I'm right... but to light up the sky, to allow your marriage & your love to shine, I encourage you to remember that when you work together, everyone wins!

Let's take a moment to meet the man & woman standing before me... in times of old, people were very specifically named... for honoring a family heritage, for individual traits they would possess, for the plan God had for their lives.

(In my first communication with Emma, she shared that she & Andrew weren't particularly religious... her words were "maybe say something about the universe" I was a little concerned because as you will learn today, I am 100% a God-girl & I believe marriage is one of the greatest treasures He shared with us...)

Andrew, your bride Emma Rebecca will be a treasure on your journey in life. The name Emma is derived from the Germanic word meaning 'whole, complete, universal' (The moment I read the word universal, Emma's words, 'say something about the universe, rang loud & clear in my heart. I knew that I would be officiating this wedding & that God's blessing would be on it.) Emma is a charming & classical name which means '9 blessings' in Tai & 'my God has answered' in Hebrew. Andrew, the woman before you is the 'one who will complete' your life. She will walk by your side in the day to day, she will lift & encourage you in the difficult seasons & she will celebrate with you when life delivers victory & joy. She will bring you exponentially more than 9 blessings & I pray your heart celebrates every time you look at this beautiful woman & are reminded that 'your God has answered' with His, and now your Emma!

Emma, the name Rebecca means 'servant of God'...the ways of man & the ways of God are so very different. A servant in man's world is a very lowly role, waiting on the needs of others. A servant in God's view is a treasured role for you will be the dispenser of His greatest gift. As a servant of God, you are called to love this man, love his family, & love the angels unaware that God brings to your life. Andrew, you have selected a treasure!

Emma, it brings me great joy to share with you the man who will very soon be your husband. The name Andrew is derived from the ancient Greek word andros which means 'man'... with a little more research, you will discover that it means 'brave, strong. courageous & warrior' Every woman should have a man who will be brave when she is uncertain, strong when she feels weak, courageous when the journey ahead appears difficult & a warrior when she needs reminded that he will fight for her because she is his princess. Honoring his mother's legacy with the name Binaris is one of the greatest treasures a husband & father can share. (Emma, you will love the sweet 'universe-message' that binary holds for the two of you! a binary star is a system of 'two stars that revolve around each other under their mutual gravitation' synonyms for binary are 'mated, paired, twin ;) antonyms are 'single' I trust, Andrew that you will walk in your namesake as a brave, strong, courageous man who understands & honors the immeasurable value of his heritage & the legacy he creates with his life.

Today, the two of you have come to join your lives as one! Do you have rings to serve as a visible reminder to yourselves & the world of the commitment you are making to one another? Emma & Andrew, once again the two of you have set a beautiful foundation for your relationship. Emma's engagement ring holds an emerald...the emerald is known as the 'stone of successful love' It brings loyalty & provides for domestic bliss; an emerald encourages growth, reflection, healing & fertility...perhaps the 'binaries' legacy partnered with the emerald will deliver twins!!! And now, notice the qualities of your wedding bands... the metal from which they are created is 'pure & strong'. let your love for one another reflect that purity & strength; their shape is an endless circle... let your love be as 'endless' as this circle, day in & day out, highs & lows, always choose to love one another.

These rings are the last & most important gift you will give to one another before becoming husband & wife.

Emma, is it your desire that Andrew be you lawfully wedded husband? If so, please share your vows & then repeat these promises after me as you place Andrew's wedding ring on his finger. (Personal vows) I, Emma, take you, Andrew, to be my lawfully wedded husband. I promise to walk in my namesake as the partner who will help to complete your life. I promise to love, honor & cherish the treasured moments of our life together, as long as we both shall live! Andrew, accept this ring as a memento of my eternal love for you.

By the authority vested in me by American Marriage Ministries and the State of Utah I now pronounce you wife and husband! Family & friends, it is my honor to present for the very first time, Mr & Mrs Andrew & Emma Ostler! Mr Andrew Ostler, you may kiss your lovely bride & now, wife!
