I am so honored to be officiating this ceremony for you! Not only are the two of you becoming one today but your two distinct cultures are coming together, not one or the other but a beautiful new treasure will be created today. May the two of you embrace this ceremony as a reflection for raising your children to honor the gifts of each heritage.

Prayer of Thanksgiving: Father, thank You for joining us here today. We thank You for this beautiful setting and for the treasured covenant of marriage we will celebrate. I thank You for this young couple, for their love & for the future they will create together. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

Weddings are most certainly a time of great celebration. As I researched each of your cultural heritages, I discovered ceremonies celebrated with great joy! Family gathers, traditions are honored & a couple becomes husband and wife!

In honor of Navi's heritage, we celebrate a Haldi Ceremony to moisturize, calm & bless the two of you as a couple... oil to anoint your hearts & minds, rose water to refresh your spirits & turmeric to serve as a treasured reminder to season every day of your lives with love! Stephanie, please hold Navi's hands, palms up, so that you may see the gift they are to you. These are the hands of your best friend, strong & vibrant. They are holding your hands on this, your Wedding Day, as he promises to love you all the days of his life. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as you build your future together, as you laugh & cry, as you share your innermost secrets & dreams. Navi, please hold Stephanie's hands, palms up, so that you may see the gift they are to you. These are the hands of your best friend, young & carefree. They are holding yours on your Wedding Day as she pledges her love & commitment to you all the days of her life. These are the hands that will tenderly embrace each new life God adds to your family... they will wipe countless tears & apply way too many bandages for a mommy's sweet heart. These are the hands that will give you support as she encourages you to chase down your dreams. Together, as a team, as a family, everything you hope for can become reality.

Blessing the Hands: Father, bless these hands before You today. Ensure that they will always be held by one another. Give them strength to hold on during the storms of life. Keep them tender & gentle as they nurture one another through a lifetime of love. Guide them in building a relationship founded in Your love & unwavering devotion. Help Navi & Stephanie to see their four hands as Your vessels of healing, protection, shelter & guidance; for one another, for their family & for Your majestic purposes.

Navi & Stephanie, last night, for the very last time, the two of you went to bed as single individuals. Tonight, & every night forward may 'seem' like last night; But beginning tonight, "Everything is different!" Tonight Navi, you will be 'a husband' and Stephanie, you will be 'his wife'. Tonight the two of you rest in the immeasurable blessing of God's covenant of marriage as 'two become one'! To honor Stephanie's heritage, we celebrate with a Lasso Ceremony, the figure 8 lazo symbolizes your everlasting union & new status as one in the eyes of the Lord. Are the two of you ready for your wedding vows?

Wedding Vows: Navi & Stephanie, please join hands, repeat these vows after me, & place your wedding bands on one another as you speak your vows. I, Stephanie, take you, Navi to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have & to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness & in health, to love & to cherish as long as we both shall live. We close our ceremony today with a Nuptial Blessing uniting the two of you as 'one flesh'

Father, watch over Navi & Stephanie. Keep them faithful to one another for a long, happy life together. Above you are the sun & the stars, below you the earth. Like the stars, may your love be a constant source of light, & like the earth, a firm foundation from which to grow. May you create a peaceful, stable home & pass on the light of love to your children & their children's children forever & ever!
