Sara and Mark facing me.

Good Morning!

Sara and Mark thank you for being here with them today.

Well, what a year 2020 has been however, we take ourselves out of the usual routines of daily living and are here to witness a unique moment in the lives of Sara and Mark. Today will be their greatest moment of 2020! Today, they join their lives in the union of marriage. Marriage is a commitment in life, where two people can find and bring out the very best in each other. It offers opportunities for sharing and growth that no other human relationship can equal, a physical and emotional joining that has the promise of a lifetime.

To your family & friends, they are happy to share this moment with you. After all, they are the ones who have supported you and know you so well, it is only fitting that they are the ones to share this moment with you.

(Sara to give flowers to Heather Maid of Honor)

Face each other and hold hands.

Both Sara and Mark never thought they would be here. When they met five and a half years ago, they both swore they would not marry again! They both had to go through rough times to find this relationship. LOVE has a way of changing things. God has a way of hearing your whispers and your silent prayers. He puts the right people in your path. Just when you think you have it all worked out; you happen to sit next to someone at your dinner group that met once a month. And, as you chatted sparks immediately flew, and you exchanged phone numbers and texted the whole next day. Mark loves that Sara is a civil engineer and he shared he had kept some antique drafting equipment from high school. They just had fun together no matter what was going on. Sometimes you meet a person and you just click…you are comfortable with them, like you have known them your whole life, and you do not have to pretend to anyone or anything. Mark, Sara said you are one of the kindest, most levelheaded people she is ever met. Which is good because that balances her high strung, quirky, and boisterous personality. Sara, Mark said he loves how you always make him feel he is the only one in the room and that you look good in short skirts! He called you his lighthouse, the safe place he calls home.

1st Corinthians Chapter 13 Verses 1-8 say: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but, rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails.

Seeing that no moment is without meaning, we ask that you take this marriage as a beginning of your lives together. Today signifies the creation of a new home and a new blended family for you both. May you be fulfilled by each other’s love and friendship. May you be overjoyed by the promises you are about to make and the life together you will create. Remember in every marriage, there are good times and bad, times of joy and times of sorrow. Marriage is a journey-a time of adventure and excitement enhanced by the love, trust, dedication, and faith you share in one another. May the promises you make to one another today, be lived out to the end of your lives. Tomorrow can bring you the greatest joys, but today is the day it all begins. (Pause) Now take a deep breath and look into each other’s eyes.

SARA will do her vows first…..

MARK will then do his vows……

Having this love in your hearts, you have chosen to seal your vows by exchanging rings. (Laurie gets the rings from Mark-David) From the earliest of times, the circle has been a sign of completeness. The rings that you have chosen to wear have neither a beginning nor end, much like your love for one another. They are a symbol of the words that you speak today. May these rings from this day forward, your most treasured adornment, and may the love they symbolize, be your most precious possession. As you wear these rings, may they be constant reminders of these glad promises you are making today.

SARA takes Mark’s ring and repeats after me…. I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness to you today, tomorrow, and forever.

MARK takes Sara’s ring and repeats after me…..I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness to you today, tomorrow, and forever.

I ask that everyone bow their heads: (Pause)

Heavenly Father, behold our family and friends here, we thank you for this day, and for the love that unites us, for the peace given to us, for the joy we are experiencing, for the health and well being of all, the work, the life, and the future we get to enjoy and for our friends and family that are rejoicing with us today.

May their home truly be a place of love and harmony where your spirit is ever present. Bless their wedding day, we pray, and walk beside them, through all their life together.

Amen

Sara and Mark, you have come here today of your own free well and in the presence of family, friends, and loved ones and you have declared your love and commitment to each other. You have given and received rings as a symbol of your promises to each other. By the power of your love, and the commitment to each other, and by the power vested in me by the State of Maryland and American Marriage Ministries, I am proud to pronounce you Husband and Wife!

Mark you may kiss your bride!

I am proud to present Mr. & Mrs. Mark Arenberg!
