Lots of people believe that entering into marriage is the final step in a passionate relationship. The way they see it, a couple meets, gets to know each other, falls in love, makes a decision to go through life together, and then take the final step — tying the knot!

But the final step in a couple’s relationship is not marriage. —

10 years ago today, marked only the beginning of the loving commitment that you both first made to one another. And now as we stand here today, 10yrs later, the two of you now have a pretty good idea of what it takes to make a marriage work. Because marriage, just like life, has many things that are constantly changing, and as those different changes take place, the one thing that must always remain the same is that no matter what happens, that you both always strive to better one another and always place each other above yourselves…

So, Adam, you know how frustrating it can be to have to drive Lily around as her chauffer. And all those moments when she expects you to read what’s on her mind instead of just telling you what she is thinking… * But you also love her ‘ditzy blonde moments’ and ‘great southern cooking’. * And, Adam, you’ve also said that along with Lily’s beautiful smile that you love that she is also a very kind and honest person!

* And Lily, you already know to expect the things like whenever Adam is looking for something and can’t find it, that you’re probably always going to have to find it for him, even though it’s always where you told him it was! And Lily, you have accepted that at times Adam can be a real asshole, because you also know that no matter what he’s always stood by your side even through all of Your Crazy. And he always has, and always will, take care of you!
