About Lyris Rivera

Lyris lives in Florida and was ordained by American Marriage Ministries on July 28th, 2014.

I was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. I have been married for twenty-seven years and have six children and six grandchildren. Faith is above all things. My walk with the Lord has been for eleven years and in those eleven years I became the Leader of the Interpretive Ministry for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This ministry involves interpreting the word of God to those who cannot hear. I have provided training sessions for church members in the congregation where I attended and to the community. I love to worship in Manual Communication (ASL) American Sign Language and enjoy listening to Christian music. Education is important - I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Early Children Education/Leadership and Supervision. I studied online with Global University/Berean Bible Studies to earn minister credentials. As a retired Exceptional Student Educator (Teacher of Special Needs) of twenty-six years writing has become a new passion of mine. I published my first book titled ENTER THE DARKNESS:GOING NOWHERE FAST in 2012 and a second book will be released soon-IN THE SHADOW OF HIS WINGS:WHERE DARKNESS TURNS TO LIGHT. I believe God created Adam and Eve to live a harmonious abundant fruitful life. My favorite bible verses are : Genesis 2:21 'So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.' Genesis 2:24 'That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.' 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 'Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.' I recently relocated to Orlando. FL and attending a new church where my husband and I are very happy to congregate. We are looking forward to continue sharing a life filled with love and God's promises for our lives. We await to see what God's plans are for us.
