About American Marriage Ministries

Helping people perform marriage since 2009.

American Marriage Ministries is a non-profit, interfaith and non-denomination church, founded on July 4th, 2009. Our mission is to ensure that all people have the ability to exercise their right to solemnize marriage. As of April 19th, 2015, we have ordained over 225,684 AMM Ministers around the world.

We believe that choosing a life partner, and choosing someone to officially bless that union, is an inalienable right that belongs to all people. Your spiritual freedom is protected by the religious non-establishment clause of the 1st Amendment.

AMM Mission

To protect the right of all people to perform marriage.

Our Beliefs

American Marriage Ministries is a church founded on three simple tenets:

  1. All people, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation, have the right to marry.
  2. It is the right of every couple to choose who will solemnize their marriage.
  3. All people have the right to solemnize marriage.

Our Officers

American Marriage Ministries is governed by the officers of the AMM Church Board:

President

Glen Masa-Aki Yoshioka

The result is American Marriage Ministries.

Hope you like it!

Outside of my duties as President of the AMM, I perform local improv and sketch comedy, canoe in the summer, juggle, unicycle, and otherwise keep myself busy in beautiful (even when it's raining) Seattle.

Vice-President

Dylan James Wall

Dylan James Wall Profile PictureAmerican Marriage Ministries is an empowering force to many different people, in many different ways. Some are ordained to perform a marriage for friends or a family member, others to conduct myriad services in their communities.

Our goal has always been to bring people together via ordination. As Vice President of AMM, I work to strengthen our global fellowship of ministers and provide new ministers the opportunity to start their congregations.

Marry and be merry!

Officer of the Church Board

Sara Lachman

Sara Lachman Profile PictureI am proud to serve on the board of American Marriage Ministries because I truly believe that everyone should have the right to marry the person they love, and be married by a person they love.

In addition to serving on the AMM board, I also work as a Youth Services Librarian in a public library, love to watch horror movies, read books written for teenagers, and play overly complicated board games.
Each of us brings a unique perspective to the AMM Church Board, but we share a unified understanding that marriage is a right, not a privilege.

Our Ministers

Applying to become an AMM Minister is not a declaration of exclusive faith, it is an act of allowing our tenets to coexist with personal beliefs.

People of all backgrounds come together through American Marriage Ministries. We build community by perforing marriage.
