"My experience in marrying my niece and now nephew was my first experience. I spent many hours thinking about and writing personal wedding vows for my niece and now nephew. I thought that I had created the perfect wedding only to have to rewrite the entire thing the night before. I tried to reach out to both of them before the ceremony but their response was just do whatever you think. My advice, do not do whatever you think. Make sure that the bride and groom are on the same page before spending any time on creating the perfect wedding. All said and done, we went from a 15 minute ceremony to a 5 minute ceremony that was pretty cookie cutter but that is what they wanted. They were very happy and the family thought it was beautiful, so I guess that is what matters. I am grateful for the experience."
