We’ve distilled years of experience into an easy-to-use platform with training materials, quizzes, a personalized ceremony script generator, and tips to prepare you for performing marriage, all accessible through your minister profile. That’s only the beginning. After the wedding, you can share pictures, experiences, and insights with our nationwide network of ministers.


What is the AMM Wedding Helper?

The AMM Wedding Helper is a free suite of tools provided to helps wedding officiants prepare for performing marriage. You can access it through your minister profile once you are ordained.

How The Wedding Helper Works

1. Get Ordained with AMM

First, you need to get ordained with American Marriage Ministries. Our ordination is free, fast, and open to all.

If you would like to know more about AMM before getting ordained, visit our "Who We Are" page.

2. Register Your Wedding

Once you are ordained and logged in you will have access to the AMM Wedding Helper.

Start by registering your wedding by clicking on the “Wedding Helper” link under your name in the main navigation, or through your minister profile page.

3. Complete the Action Items

Once you have registered your wedding through the Wedding Helper, you can complete action items that will help you check off tasks in preparation for the wedding.

When you register your wedding you can take advantage of features that help prepare you for and confirm having performed marriage. These features include:

Wedding Preparation Action Items

  • A Personalized Ceremony Script When you register your wedding you are provided with a personalized wedding ceremony script. You can use this script as-is or as the foundation for a more personalized ceremony for the wedding.
  • Government Registration Instructions Some states will require you to register with a government office prior to performing marriage. When you register your wedding you will receive guidance on whether you are required to register and if so, what specific further steps you need to take.
  • Wedding Ceremony Quiz Our wedding ceremony quiz is a great way to make sure you are up to speed on understanding the various aspects of the wedding ceremony and the nomenclature used to describe the ceremony parts.
  • State Marriage Laws Quiz Our state marriage laws quiz is a great way to make sure you understand what the laws are in your state regarding who can perform marriage, who can get married, who issues the marriage license, and the detailsconcerning its completion and return.

Wedding Confirmation Action Items

  • Upload Your Wedding Pictures A picture is worth a thousand words and what better way to confirm that you conducted a wedding ceremony than with photographic evidence? The answer, there is no better way.
  • Confirm Marriage License Filing In most states it is the duty of the couple to return the marriage license to its government issuance office. That being said, we encourage our ministers to confirm with us that the marriage license has been filed so that you have that record attached to your minister account.
  • Ceremony Testimony We encourage you to leave a few kind words about performing the ceremony for the couple. This can be an expression of gratitude to the couple, a funny anecdote about the ceremony, or anything else wedding day related.

Let Others Know You Have Performed Marriage!

We encourage you to share weddings you have performed with your friends on social media. This lets others know that they too can perform marriage or have one of their friends officiate their wedding.
