A marriage license signing ceremony, also called a ‘sign and go’ ceremony, a 'signing-only' ceremony, or an officiant ‘signature service,’ focuses on the couple’s legal marriage rather than the ritual aspects of a traditional wedding ceremony.
This script contains the requirements for a legal marriage ceremony, including a declaration or expression of intent to marry, and the pronouncement of marriage from the wedding officiant.

Officiant to Couple
[Partner A] and [Partner B], I’m here today to join the two of you in marriage. You both expressed to me that it’s your marriage – not a wedding or a big ceremony – that’s most important to you. So today, we sign the document that legally seals this union, to honor the love that binds you.

If you both come freely, to join together in the partnership of marriage, please take each other by the hands and reply 'we do.'

Marriage License Signing
- The wedding officiant signs the marriage license, along with the couple and any required witnesses. this is the end of the ceremony... time to celebrate!
