What greater thing than for two persons to be joined together; to strengthen each other and to help each other in need, to share joy, and be one with each other – whatever life has to offer.
Invocation
This is a special time of celebration that Stephanie and Dan will long remember. They are thankful you are here today to share in their joy.
Stephanie and Dan, today begin a life of giving, sharing, nurturing and support; supporting each other in the freedom to change and grow as individuals while developing their mutual spirit.
In the art of marriage, the little things are the big things. It is about establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, dependence is mutual, and the obligation is reciprocal. Lord, be with them now and always.
God watch over them, and their guests here today.
Amen
Reading: Stephanie and Dan have some special words of inspiration they wish to share with you.
Sermon: Personalized to the bride and groom after learning more about them.
To the Congregation: The bonds these two are about to make today are sacred and should not be broken.
We know that nearly every relationship is tested at one point or another, by conflict, temptation, strife, and change.
Will you, their loved ones, family, and friends, agree to help them keep these bonds holy, reminding them of their love for one another, and help cross through those stressful periods?
If so signify by saying we do.
Declaration of Intent:
To the Couple:
Stephanie and Dan, you are about to make your promises to one another. You will find that as you live by these vows over the years, investing your time, love, and your commitment to one another, the happy times of your life will be twice as joyous because you’ll share these joys with one another. Are you both ready for this?
Stephenie and Dan will now share their vows.
Please face one another and hold hands:
_______ Will you take _______, whose hands you hold, choosing (him/her) alone to be your lawfully wedded spouse? Will you live with ___________ in the state of holy matrimony? Will you love, care for, and comfort __________ through good times and bad, in sickness and in health, honoring ________ at all times and being faithful to this relationship? If so signify with “I Do.”
The rings please.
The ring, an unbroken circle, represents unending love. As often as either of you look upon these rings, may you be reminded of this moment and the love you have promised to one another.
_________ Please place this ring on _______’s finger and repeat after me. _______, I give you this ring, as a symbol of my love, and a symbol that I choose you to share my life with.
I give you this ring,
with the pledge to love you
today, tomorrow, and forever.
Blessing:
Stephanie and Dan, I leave you now with the following words. I want to wish you both much love and happiness as you begin your new journey together.
