Welcome family and friends. We are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the marriage of Jennifer Ann Cardino and Robert Gabriel Dietz.
This is not the beginning of a new relationship but an acknowledgement of the next chapter in of their lives together. Robert and Jennifer have spent the few years getting to know each other, and we now join them to bear witness to what their relationship has become.
Today, they will affirm this bond formally and publicly. This affirmation means more because it is shared with their most beloved friends and family members. As Proust said, "Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." Jennifer and Robert will mark their transition as a couple not only by celebrating the love between themselves, but by also celebrating the love between all of us – including the love of their parents, siblings, extended family, and best friends.
Without that love, today would be far less joyous. Together with Robert and Jennifer, I thank all of you for being here this evening.
Robert and Jennifer, today you not only marry the right person, you also commit to being the right partner, the one with whom the other can stand and face the world. It is finally time to seal this chapter with questions that will lead us into the next chapter.

Vows
Please face one another and hold hands.
Jennifer, do you take Robert, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?
Robert, do you take Jennifer, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?
Exchange of Rings
A ring is an unbroken circle, with ends that have been joined together, and it represents your union. It is also a symbol of completeness, just as you two complete each other. It is a symbol of infinity, and of your infinite love. It encircles an opening, which is the door to your future. When you look at these rings on your hands, be reminded of this moment, your commitment, and the love you now feel for each other.
Jennifer, place the ring on Robert's finger and repeat after me:
Robert, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever.
And now, Robert, place the ring on Jennifer's finger and repeat after me:
Jennifer, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love with the pledge to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever.
Special Words
I will read to you a poem that has special significance to Jennifer and Robert, and is aptly named “The Meaning”, by Kellie Spehn.
The Meaning
To love is to share life together
to build special plans just for two
to work side by side
and then smile with pride
as one by one, dreams all come true.
To love is to help and encourage
with smiles and sincere words of praise
to take time to share
to listen and care
in tender, affectionate ways.
To love is to have someone special
one who you can always depend
to be there through the years
sharing laughter and tears
as a partner, a lover, a friend.
To love is to make special memories
of moments you love to recall
of all the good things
that sharing life brings
love is the greatest of all.
I've learned the full meaning
of sharing and caring
and having my dreams all come true;
I've learned the full meaning
of being in love
by being and loving with you.
Pronouncement
Oh lord, our hearts are filled with joy on this wedding day, as groom and bride come before you pledging their hearts and lives to one another.
Grant that they may ever be true and loving, living together in such a way as to never bring shame or heartbreak into their marriage. Temper their hearts with kindness and understanding. Rid them of all pretense and jealousy. Help them to remember to be each other’s sweetheart, helpmate, best friend, and guide, so together they may meet the cares and problems of life more bravely.
May the home they are creating today truly be a place of love, peace, and harmony, where your spirit is always present. Bless this marriage throughout their lives together.
Robert and Jennifer, before these witnesses you have pledged to be joined in marriage. You have now sealed this pledge with your wedding rings.
And so, by the power vested in me by the American Marriage Ministries and the State of New Jersey, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Robert, you may now kiss your bride.
Family and friends, I am proud to present for the first time as husband and wife: Mr. and Mrs. Dietz!
