Lacey and Royce have asked me to do a little housekeeping today. If you have a cell phone, smart phone, or tablet, please turn it off or place it on silent until the conclusion of their ceremony.

Also, the photographer has asked to refrain from any flash photography so that the photographer can do their job an capture Lacey and Royce’s Special Day so they can treasure the photos forever.

Thank you.

~ Invocation ~

Friends and Family, today we have gathered together to celebrate the marriage of

Lacey Nicole Hunter

And

Royce Wylie, II

Lacey and Royce come here today to pledge their love and to celebrate the joining of their lives in this covenant of marriage. The rest of us have gathered here to be witnesses to the vows that are about to be spoken, to celebrate the courage, caring and commitment expressed in the rituals of this ceremony, and to bless this union that Lacey and Royce are about to enter.

Love is both humankind’s highest achievement and life’s greatest gift. With love, it is possible to live a life together, each seeking joy, comfort, health, and enrichment of the other.

To quote the film, When Harry Met Sally, “When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.” And being that Lacey and Royce would like to start the rest of their lives together as soon as possible, we will proceed right on to the wedding vows.

~ Giving of the Bride ~

(To Father of the Bride) “Who gives this woman to be married to this man?”

Father of the Bride: “Her mother and I.”

Note: Father of the Bride will lift veil, if applicable, and give the Bride a kiss on the cheek and hug, if desired, then turn towards groom and release the Bride to the Groom. Father of the Bride will return to seated or standing pre-planned position.

Lacey and Royce, please face each other and join hands together.

~ Declaration of Intent & Exchange of Vows ~

Lacey, repeat after me:

I, Lacey, take you, Royce … to be my husband and my best friend … I will take care of you…, guard, protect and cherish our relationship … I will love you today, tomorrow, and forever ... I will always be open, honest, and faithful to you ... I take you as my wedded husband … to have and to hold from this day forward … in sickness and in health … in good times and bad … for richer or poorer … keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?

Lacey: “I do”

Royce, repeat after me:

I, Royce, take you, Lacey … to be my wife and my best friend … I will take care of you…, guard, protect, and cherish our relationship … I will love you today, tomorrow, and forever ... I will always be open, honest, and faithful to you ... I take you as my wedded wife … to have and to hold from this day forward … in sickness and in health … in good times and bad … for richer or poorer … keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?

Royce: “I do”

Note: Get rings from Karla and Lester…

~ Exchange of Rings ~

Karla and Lester, may I have the rings?

And now, Lacey and Royce, will exchange wedding rings. These rings, which have no beginning and no end, symbolize the love and trust between you that will never cease. May its presence on your hand remind you of your love and vows to one another.

Lacey and Royce, I now ask you to exchange the rings you have selected to represent your union with the words you have chosen. (Repeat after me.)

Lacey: (Repeat after Me) Royce, I give you this ring… to wear with love and joy… As a ring has no end… neither shall my love for you... I choose you… to be my husband… today and forever.

Royce: (Repeat after Me) Lacey, I give you this ring… to wear with love and joy… As a ring has no end… neither shall my love for you... I choose you… to be my wife… today and forever.

Religious Sand Ceremony Vows

Officiant:

“Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh” (Genesis 2:24). God created you as an individual, perfect by His glory and love.

But God also said that it was not good for man to be alone, and so he created woman to be his partner and helper. Today as you make a covenant before God to join in marriage, you become one flesh. You have chosen to symbolize that union with a sand ceremony.

First, I will pour in white sand, representing your faith in God as the foundation of who you are as individuals.

Now Lacey, pour some of your sand, representing yourself as an individual before you came to this union.

Now Royce, also pour some of your sand, representing yourself as an individual before you came to this union.

I will then pour some more white sand, representing your faith in God as the foundation of your marriage.

Then, Lacey and Royce pour your remaining sand together to represent your joining as one in marriage completely and eternally.

Lastly, I will add another layer of white sand which represents God watching over you and protecting you with his everlasting love. May God bless this marriage so that you are as inseparable as these grains of sand.

~ Benediction ~

Let us join together in prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father and Lord of creation, each as an individual, open Lacey and Royce’s hearts to feel your guidance and support through those who have gathered with them here today.

Let their marriage be an occasion for them to see how you have been working in their lives separately, and together.

May they remember the vows taken here today, not only in their minds, but also, in their everyday actions of kindness and caring for one another.

I ask all of this in Jesus name.

Amen.

~ Marriage Charge ~

Lacey and Royce now that you have been joined together in marriage, may you strive always to meet this commitment with the same spirit you now exhibit.

May the happiness that you have brought to this hour never lose its freshness, but ripen into a fuller flower and deepen until it is absorbed into the very roots of your being. May you grow ever closer from this day forward, in work and in play, in hope and in counsel, in laughter and in tears.

And above all, may you always be present for one another, be available to one another, and listen to one another – and listen to not only what is said, but what is unsaid, for sometimes what is felt in the heart cannot be spoken by words. So be present, and when in doubt, turn inward for the highest answers, turn to each other for clarity and understanding, and place your love for one another higher in importance than any challenge you may face, for there will be challenges, both internal and external. But through all the challenges, changes, and chances of life, may you always remain true helpers and true partners to each other.

~ Pronouncement and Kiss ~

Until now you have spent each moment of your lives as separate individuals. But from this day on, and every day after, each moment shall be shared and spent as one. By the power vested in me by American Marriage Ministries and the State of Mississippi, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now express your commitment of love for one another with a kiss.

Royce, you may kiss your Bride.

(pause for kiss, turn page)

(after kiss)

Friends and Family,

I now present to you Mr. and Mrs. Royce Wylie, II!

Notes:

[Bride/Groom exit followed by wedding party, Royce’s dad will stay seated so that he can escort Audrey (his wife)out. The last groomsman will escort both of the last bridesmaids together or one of the groomsmen will double back to get the last bridesmaid.

Wayne and Belinda will exit.

Royce’s dad escorts Audrey last.

Once they’ve headed down the aisle, make the final announcement.]

~ Conclusion ~

Lacey and Royce have asked those of you that have attended their ceremony today to stay and together with their parents invite everyone to come inside for the reception. They also ask if we could have some of the gentlemen grab the cushioned chairs and help bring them back inside because they came from inside the Yacht Club and they were so gracious to let us borrow them.

On behalf of Lacey and Royce Wylie, II, thank you for being a part of their day and attending.

I’m honored to have been asked to officiate their wedding and be a part of their special day.
