I am pleased and honored to be asked to marry Roberto Magallanes and Priscilla Torres.

Marriage is a sacred and very personal decision and should only be entered into once. In today’s world that is not always the norm and that makes the commitment to one another harder to endure.

Your partner, spouse, family are to encourage, strengthen, and want you to be a better person every day and you are to do the same for them. They are not there to control you or abuse you (mentally or physically). Your partner is there to help you achieve your goals, to reach for your dreams and help you if you fall short or fall down

I feel it is important to mention the symbol the rings represent. Many will say that the circle is the never-ending cycle of love you have for each other, while there are those that will tell you that it is an outward symbol of the commitment you have declared here today. These are all true and romantic, yet also remember that in today’s world, where it is easier to divorce than it is to marry, that the ring is a reminder – every day that you are indeed married. That you must, in all decisions, consider this partner that you have vowed forever with. A job is only 20 or so years, friends will eventually let you down and leave, yet this is the person that you have chosen “Life” with. This ring does not choke the life from you – it encircles you both so that you always know that there is someone on your side – no matter what. When you look at the ring, which you should do daily, know that there is someone that also wears a ring for you. You will grow together, accepting each other’s differences as these differences enhance who you are and help you grow farther than you could alone. The ring is not just a symbol and commitment it is a representation of your partner who is always with you, cheering you on, helping you achieve your dreams, and balancing your dark side with light.

Love one another with everything that you are. Share yourself to the fullest with your partner, and remember what that ring stands for. Life is not always going to be fair or go your way. Learn to listen to each other without reacting. You walk this life together now and if you look around you today, you will see all those who are there to help you both get through the rough times. Use them. They will listen and let you get it out so you can hear it, they will not judge, because many of them have been through the same issue some have been through much more.
