Wedding Ceremony Outline
INTRODUCTION:
Isn’t this a wonderful day and a wonderful moment in the lives of Michelle and Jim?! God has uniquely brought this couple together, as He worked in their hearts to produce the love that brings them here today... at this time and place. You are here today to witness two things: 1) this marriage ceremony, as the creation of a new entity; what was two will now become one in the eyes of God; but also 2) a change within yourself, as each of you has a close relationship to one of these two persons, and as God changes their relationship, it will also change yours.
CHARGE TO THE COUPLE:
Statement of intentions to marry: “I now want to confirm with each of you your intentions to marry.”
Jim, do you see how God has blessed you, and entrusted Michelle’s life to you as a gift, and consider it an honor and a gift to be the one she has chosen as her life’s partner? Do you pledge your trust to Michelle in all love, honor and respect, in all duty and service, in all faith and tenderness, in all openness and honesty, to live with her and cherish her, according to the guidance of God in Christian marriage?
If so, please say, "I do."

EXCHANGE OF MARRIAGE VOWS:
We now move to the part of this service where you will exchange the vows of marriage.
*(Vows)*
I, James, take you Michelle, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, ‘til death do us part. This is my solemn vow.
I, Michelle, take you James, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, ‘til death do us part. This is my solemn vow.
PRESENTATION OF THE RINGS:
Michelle and Jim will now exchange rings.
The wedding rings are a symbol of longevity and commitment in the marriage covenant.
Marriage is to demonstrate understanding and forgives. It nurtures new ways of expressing love through the seasons of life. It is to be pure and selfless, reflecting the light of the Maker.
I, James, give you, Michelle, my hand and my heart as a sanctuary; and pledge my faith and love to you. With this ring, I thee wed.
