Invocation

Welcome family, friends, and loved ones. We are gathered here today, to celebrate the wedding of Kayla and Gino. You have come here from nearby and from far, to share in this commitment they make to one another, to offer your love and support to their union, and to allow Kayla and Gino to start their married life together, surrounded by the people dearest and most important to them.

Who gives this woman to be married to this man?

Ministers Minute:

Kayla and Gino, my apologies, I might take a “lot” longer than a minute or two; but do not be worried, together the 2 of you will get to the “I DO”. You see folks, what you all may not know or realize, is that Kayla has been waiting a long time for this day. In fact, it has been (And my apologies again Kayla, because I am about to reveal your age) 30 years, 5 months, 6 days, (looks at watch) and so many hours, that Kayla has waited for this day. Because, when she was just 3 months old, she had her first glimpse of a wedding. It was at her Aunt and Uncle’s wedding. She was in her mother’s arms, as peaceful as can be; listening to all that was going on, posing for pictures with the newly married couple, dreaming from that moment, of the day she will be saying “I Do”.

Gino, had you realized that, you could have shortened the “courtship.” Folks, they met in 2012. It was at their place of work. I am not exactly sure, but I think they took a double look at each other and said, Hmmm. Sometime after, Gino made a move to break the ice, by asking Kayla this question, “Are you from Tennessee”? “Because you’re the only 10-I- See”. The 2 had grown closer and closer together. They had shared wine, “a favorite of Kayla’s”, and lots of time with each other. Their closest friends, family,” You”, have witnessed this. Through that bond, is what brings us all here today.

Kayla and Gino, marriage is a promise between two people who love each other, who trust that love, who honor one another as individuals, and who wish to spend the rest of their lives together. It enables the two separate souls to share their desires, longings, dreams, and memories, their joys and sorrows, and to help each other through all uncertainties of life. A strong marriage is a safe haven for each of you to become your best self, and while together, you become better, than you ever could alone.

Vow Exchange

Gino and Kayla, please join hands, look at one another now and remember this moment in time.

Gino, please repeat after me:

Kayla, I take you as you are / Loving who you are now / And who you are yet to become/ I promise from this day forward / To be grateful for our love and our life / To be generous with my time / My energy and my affection / To be patient with you and myself / To fill our life with adventure / And our home with laughter / To encourage you to grow as an individual / And inspire you to do so / To love you completely / These things I pledge before you, our family, and our friends.

Ring Exchange

Kayla and Gino will now exchange rings.

(Rings are given to Kayla and Gino)

“Your wedding ring is a symbol of your promise to one another. The ring, an unbroken, never ending circle, is a symbol of committed, unending love”.

Gino, as you place this ring on Kayla’s finger, repeat these words after me: This ring symbolizes my love for you / and the commitments we made today.

(Kayla: I do)

Blessing

May you always have a special sense of your mission in life together, and may you never tire of the endless possibilities of exploring your shared existence. And long, long years from now, may you look at one another and be able to say, “With you, I have lived the life I always wanted to live. With you, I have become the person I always longed to be.”

Pronouncement

Kayla and Gino, you have come here today of your own free will, in the presence of family and friends, and have declared your love and commitment to each other. You have given and received rings as a symbol of your promises. By the power vested in me by the State of California, and American Marriage Ministries, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Congratulations.

Love comes from humble beginnings. Kayla and Gino, You may now seal your vows with a kiss!

Family and friends, I am happy to present to you, the newly married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ciccone!
