You are gathered here today to witness Brianna and Kyle embarking in the Holy union of marriage.
This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home.
Brianna and Kyle, as you are about to begin this journey together, as you become one in matrimony and start your family, these words from the book of Romans seem to be the most fitting:
Romans 12:10 ~ Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
*(Vows)*
Please repeat after me, (look at Brianna)
Kyle, I take you to be my lawfully wedded husband (wait for repeat), to have and to hold (pause), in sickness and in health (pause), in good times and bad (pause), for richer or poorer(pause), keeping myself unto you for as long as we both shall live.
Brianna, I take you to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping myself unto you for as long as we both shall live.
It is raining today, as this couple becomes one. It is said that rain on your wedding day is good luck. Allow me just a moment to tell you why this belief exists. Marriage is referred to as "tying the knot", which is when two pieces of rope are tied together and form a knot, much like Brianna and Kyle are tying their two lives together to create one. Well, rain is water and anyone who has ever tried to untie a knotted rope that has gotten wet can tell you... that is no easy task. The water breaks down the fibres and when it dries the fibres reform in a new way, the two ends are virtually inseparable.
Brianna and Kyle will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment. May I have the rings? Please join me in a moment of prayer. Father in heaven, we ask that you smile on Brianna and Kyle as they take this leap forward in life. We ask that you give them strength and that these rings always remind them of the commitment they made to each other on this day. May these rings shine brightly in the darkest times and may they be worn proudly until they return to your arms at the end of their days.
*(Ring Exchange)*
Brianna, do you accept this ring freely, knowing the obligation you are making to this man? (I do)
Kyle, do you accept this ring freely, knowing the commitment you are making to this woman? (I do)
And now, by the authority vested in me by the State of Pennsylvania, I now pronounce you husband and wife! Kyle, you may kiss your bride. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Kyle _____!!!
