Wedding Officiant

Step 1: Get Ordained with American Marriage Ministries

According to Utah Code Title 30, marriages may be solemnized by “ministers, rabbis, or priests of any religious denomination.” If you do not yet fulfill this requirement, don’t worry.  As long as you are at least 18 years old, AMM’s free online ordination makes it possible for you to become a minister of our church today by simply signing up.

The State of Utah does not require ministers to register with the local government, so once you are ordained with us, you can start officiating weddings!

Step 2: Prepare for the Wedding Ceremony in West Jordan

Officiating a wedding ceremony is a privilege and an honor, but also comes with a lot of pressure. AMM’s training pages will help give you helpful tips and tricks for brainstorming, writing a personalized script and delivering a smooth speech.

Step 3: Officiate the Wedding and Complete the Marriage License

When it comes to signing the marriage license, it is the couple’s responsibility to obtain it from the county clerk’s office, fill it out, and hand it over to you to sign as well. Just make sure that the license is valid before signing and giving it back to the couple to return. Otherwise, you have fulfilled your full legal duty as the officiant!
