Nevada Wedding Tips and Tricks

Become a Wedding Officiant

For The
Wedding Officiant

Nevada state law states that the following individuals are allowed to officiate a marriage within the state:

  • Local county clerk
  • An individual with a church or religious organization
  • Military chaplain

If you aren't one of these people yet, don't worry. You can get ordained online right here on this website. It only takes a few minutes and with thousands of successful weddings conducted by AMM ministers in Clark County, we're confident that our ordination is the best way to become a Henderson Wedding Officiant. Just be sure to follow the instructions closely below, since Clark County has some of the stricted wedding officiant registration rules in the country.

All Wedding Officiants Must Register with the Clark County Clerk

The Clark County Clerk has two registration options for wedding officiants: You can request permission to perform a Single Ceremony or you can apply for Permanent Status. Where you live, the number of weddings you plan to perform, and the time and resources you want to dedicate will determine which option you choose, so let’s start by comparing the two.

  • Available to Residents and Non-Residents of Nevada.
  • Requires the couple to sign a Character Reference Affidavit in the presence of a Notary.
  • Requires you to take an online Single Ceremony Marriage Officiant Training Course.
  • Requires you to pay a total application fee of $25.
  • Your certification can take up to 30 days.
  • Go To Single Ceremony Instructions

  • Only available to Clark County, Nevada residents.
  • Officiant must attend a 2 Hour Officiant Training Course at the Clark County Government Center.
  • Requires officiant to complete a background check. This incurs an additional fee and processing time.
  • Your certification can take more than 30 days.
  • Go To Permanent Status Instructions

If those requirements seem complicated, don’t worry. At this point all you need to do is ask yourself whether you want to perform more than one ceremony, and how much time and energy you want to expend. For many wedding officiants, the single ceremony registration is all that’s required and it’s pretty painless.

Wedding Venue and Planning Tips

For The Couple
& Officiant

The Basics

There are numerous events that happen throughout the city of Henderson, and if you want to get married in the area, it’s worth checking to see if any festivals or events are happening on the date you want to get married.

There are some venues in the area that you can take advantage of when you want to get married in Henderson. You can check out The Terrace Events which has indoor and outdoor venue space, as well as all the usual wedding reception stuff like a dance floor and catering. You can also check out the Little Chapel on the Corner which is a smaller, quaint chapel that provides a cute place to tie the knot.

The weather in Henderson is beautiful most of the year. Rain isn’t really a factor, but it can really heat up in the summer so take that into consideration.

Nice city, but the public transport is pretty lacking. Guests are best off renting, or using rideshares depending on how much travel they plan to do.
