Flagstaff has everything you need to feel at home and delightfully entertained no matter the time of year. Snowy winters attract thousands to ski at the Snowbowl, while mild summers and brisk autumns are great for visiting archeological phenomena like the Wupatki National Monument. Because of Flagstaff’s low light pollution, it is an excellent destination for anyone who enjoys observing the night sky. Imagine an evening with your sweetheart at Lowell’s Observatory! “If you wish upon a star….”
Anyway, while you consider all the romantic options, let’s also make sure you take care of all the legal requirements for your wedding. AMM is here to help you do just that. From ordaining your hand-picked minister to filing for and filling out a marriage license, we have your back. Just follow this step-by-step guide, and you’ll be well on your way!
In Arizona, the law states that: “licensed or ordained clergy members - including ministers, elders, or other persons - who by the customs, rules, and regulations of a religious society or sect, are permitted to solemnize marriages or to officiate at marriage ceremonies.”
This also includes AMM ministers! So, if you’ve been asked to officiate a friend’s wedding but you don’t have any credentials to do so, you can get ordained with us. The process is free and should only take you just a few minutes to complete. There is no state registration for ministers in Arizona, so once you finish the free ordainment process, you can start officiating weddings as soon as you want!
Now that the easy part is out of the way, you can focus on planning for the wedding ceremony. Officiating a wedding is an honor but can also be a challenge. You will appreciate our wedding training pages, where we give you access to a library of information to help you plan and write your speech. Here, we cover everything from brainstorming for your speech to providing you with sample wedding ceremony scripts and so much more.
It is the couple’s responsibility to obtain the marriage license. But, make sure to double-check that the information is accurate before signing because it is a legal document. That means, check that all the names and dates are correct.
Once signed, your job is done, and the couple takes care of the rest!

Due to its relatively high altitude, Flagstaff’s four seasons are an attractive feature. Snowy winters, blossoming springs, mild summers, and crisp, colorful autumns define the city. Temperatures in the summer barely exceed the low 80’s, and temperatures in the winter tend to stay around the mid-40s.
