AMM Ordination Policy

American Marriage Ministries welcomes all people. You do not need to have a religious background or prior ministerial experience to become an AMM Certified Minister. Our free ordination does not expire.

a. Rights of an AMM Minister

As an AMM Minister you will have the authority to perform marriages. Like any other minister, when you become ordained you will be able to perform other religious functions, such as baptisms or funerals.

b. Duties of the AMM minister

You will be expected to act with honesty and integrity, and to observe all local laws and regulations in performing your functions as an AMM minister.

c. Limitations of the AMM Ordination

American Marriage Ministries maintains a policy of open ordination. Ordination as an AMM Minister is valid only if the information you submit is factually accurate and submitted in good faith. Becoming an AMM Minister does not constitute a financial relationship between you and American Marriage Ministries. For more information, please see the AMM Terms of Service.

The AMM Tenets

To become ordained online you must acknowledge and respect the AMM Tenets.

  1. All people, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation, have the right to marry.
  2. It is the right of every couple to choose who will solemnize their marriage.
  3. All people have the right to solemnize marriage.
