My name is Maraky Adey Alemseged (pronounced Muh-rocky), and I am a part-time officiant of wedding and vow renewal ceremonies, available for any and all couples within Los Angeles County, CA. I chose to officially become ordained because I've always thoroughly enjoyed joining in the celebration of life and love in any setting - but especially in weddings (ask about my lifetime of catering weddings).
I was raised a Seventh-Day Adventist Christian, but have long since found myself detached from the church and not restricted to any religion. My B.A. in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University included minors in Jewish Studies and International Relations, so I've made it a point to seek out other cultures and religions throughout young adulthood. I have a deep-rooted respect and curiosity for religions, while maintaining personal spirituality.
I am Ethiopian-American and a current graduate student earning an M.A. Sociology degree from California State University, Northridge. If you're looking for a friendly officiant to work with you for your special day, please feel free to reach out to me! I'd be happy to address any questions or concerns you have as well.
Maraky lives in California and was ordained by American Marriage Ministries on July 4th, 2018.
